Island

Log

Short notes while the scene is being built: what changed, what broke, what finally worked.

25 October 2026

Debris field

Small fragments below the island — without them there was no sense of scale.

24 October 2026

Colour pass

Pulled saturation out of the shadows and cooled the haze; the lava is now the only warm note.

23 October 2026

Dust and steam

Added slow particles around the base — the scene stopped looking sterile.

21 October 2026

Relighting the tower

The lava used to glow too evenly — added a slow flicker along the lower edge and removed a harsh highlight on the masonry.

14 October 2026

Wind and a low hum

Two audio layers: quiet wind on top, an almost inaudible hum underneath. The silences stopped feeling empty.

5 October 2026

Vertical framing

The scene now fits a portrait screen without cropping the island; the frame is shifted so the lava stays in the lower third.

First full render

Rocks, roots and water in one pass. Still noisy in the shadows, but the composition holds.

Starting the scene

The brief was simple: one island, one tower, one tree, and water falling into the dark.
